On the morning of May 9th, 2020, the first Board Meeting of Southeast University Education Foundation USA was held in the meeting room of Mengfang library via video conference with 6 board members participating: Huang Dawei, the vice president of Southeast University and the executive vice president of Southeast University Education Foundation, Rui Zhenhua, the deputy director of the Southeast University Development Council and the secretary-general of Southeast University Education Foundation, and four overseas board members -- Xu Yiping, Xia Haitao, Chen Guoying and Pan Ye.
At the meeting, Huang Dawei, Vice President, introduced the work progress Southeast University during the epidemic, and expressed his sincere sympathy to the directors of SEUEF USA who is currently in the high-risk zone of the epidemic. He said that the establishment and operation of the SEUEF USA benefited from the strong support of the alumni in the US. He hoped that through this way the alumni in the US could help to develop SEU to be a world-ranking university. Rui Zhenhua, secretary general of SEUEF USA, and four directors put forward constructive suggestions on the project management, fund operation and related specific work of the foundation in the next stage.
Southeast University Education Foundation USA was registered in California in January 2020 and is expected to obtain tax exemption status within this year. The establishment of SEUEF USA signifies a new step of SEU’s overseas fundraising work.
