2021 is an extraordinary year. In the face of the severe challenge of COVID-19, Southeast University Education Foundation (USA) has overcome an array of difficulties, strengthened its responsibility, focused on SEU development strategy, and made remarkable achievements in all aspects of its work. On behalf of Southeast University Education Foundation (USA), I would like to express my sincere gratitude and respect to the friends and alumni who have been caring and supporting the development of SEU and the Foundation for a long time.
Southeast University Education Foundation USA is a nonprofit public benefit organization, was founded in California in January 2020. It is organized for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3), aims to strengthen the contact and cooperation with overseas alumni, raise social resources and serve the school management philosophy of “being renowned for science and serving the country with talents”. It is expected to provide strong support to develop SEU to be a world-ranking university.
The fund is used to support Southeast University in talents cultivation, academic research, faculty development, international development, campus construction etc. For the specific purpose of donation, the fund can be used according to the donor's wishes. In 2020, the foundation made new breakthroughs in overseas fundraising. Up to now, the overseas alumni has donated 5 million US dollars used for building construction. The foundation has received great attention and support from alumni and friends. Some projects are under discussion and will be implemented in the near future.
The launch ceremony of the long-planned Dong Nan Xiang Shan fundraising activity and the signing ceremony of a series of donations were successfully held on the morning of June 6, 2021. In 2022, Southeast University will celebrate its 120th anniversary, which will be an important node for SEU to summarize and display its achievements and enhance its cohesion in its development process. It is hoped that alumni and friends will continue to care for and support the reform and development of SEU, and gather the love from all walks of life to promote the construction and development of SEU, and turn it into an important source of power to realize the good vision of 1-10-100.
